Tons of new gear! EMT’s, Neumann, RCA…

We’ve been on a bit of a new gear buying tear here. Some great new mics including Neumann SM23 stereo tube mic, a pair of Neumann KM86’s, another RCA 44 Ribbon, another Sennheiser 441, and a vintage 414 brass capsule.

Also a big arrival are two EMT 140 plate reverbs that came from MSR Studios when they closed. These are the classic plate reverb sound and both sound amazing with very different personalities.

Another new (vintage) reverb is an AKG-BX10 spring reverb. This is an extremely smooth spring reverb option and we’re figuring out whether this lives in Studio A or can be setup with tielines to both rooms like the EMT plates.

We love the Spectrasonics 610 compressor/limiter. It’s one of our favorite drum crush outboard units. We managed to find a pair of the pretty rare vintage units with a stereo link so we’re looking forward cranking these up on stereo room mics.
